SEARCA BIC Welcomes New Special Projects Coordinator

The SEARCA Biotechnology Information Center (SEARCA BIC) welcomes its new Special Projects Coordinator, Mr. JeromeR11693 Cayton C. Barradas.

Before joining SEARCA, Jerome was a program communication specialist at the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), working directly with scientists in developing communication materials that highlight the impact of IRRI’s work. He was also actively involved in the development of ICT-enabled materials for agricultural extension such as the Rice Knowledge Bank and the Rice Doctor. Together with regional and national partners, he was able to facilitate numerous knowledge sharing and learning activities for different stakeholders in the rice sector. In addition, he has experience in managing and coordinating various capacity building programs for IRRI Training Center (now called IRRI education).

Jerome has a degree in Development Communication and is currently working on his Master of Science in Development Management and Governance degree, both from the University of the Philippines Los Baños. He joined SEARCA BIC on July 16, 2019.
